Sad News on the Homestead

It's been a rough week here on the homestead. Earlier in the week something attacked and killed all but three of our chickens.

This morning we lost our little kid, Luke Skywalker. He got caught in a raccoon trap and we couldn't save him in time. Allen tried everything he could but unfortunately he was gone.

Juliet is dealing with it pretty well. She's gotten some good lessons on the circle of life living here on the homestead this past year and is already asking when she can have another baby goat.

We had a little service and buried him next to our dog Gypsy that passed awhile ago. Juliet said a prayer and sent him to heaven to run and play with the other animals.

We miss you Luke, RIP.

Tired Girl

We had guests over for dinner last night and Juliet didn't end up getting to bed till about 9:00. She's rarely up that late and after refusing to nap today she was getting VERY grumpy.

We got ready and headed off to Walmart before going to Church and before I knew it, she was out cold!

Hopefully he'll perk up when she gets to class with the other kids.

Princess Mommy

Today Juliet is a Princess Mommy.

Cozy

Juliet needed a blanket to keep warm the other day so I got out one of my old blankies that my Mom made me. This one is from my 8th birthday and I still love it......though so does Juliet and she has claimed it as her own.

River Dog

Our new friend Lauren came over today with her two kids. It was so beautiful out we decided to head down to the river to take a look. It was so beautiful out the dog decided to go ahead and just jump right in. It's hard to see but look hard at the last two pics. Yup, wet dog!

Spring Girl

Juliet was playing outside today and picked three daffodils. She said, one is Mommy, one is Daddy and one is the baby ❤.

Playing House

Play-doh house with a Mom, Dad and baby.

I just heard this (the play-doh people are talking)
Baby: Mommy, why are we green?
Mommy: Because we're people

Not super funny but I can't tell you what an entertaining hour it has been listening to her roll play with her Play-doh family.
