Jabba

Our posts may be sparse over the next week. Jabba is missing and our hearts are broken. We've done absolutely everything we can to find him, but come up with nothing.

When we first got Jabba, he was a crazy puppy, he would bark constantly-I mean ALL NIGHT LONG. It drove me nuts. Then the puppy "chewing" phase started and he devoured all of my outside chair cushions over and over again.

He shredded bags of trash along with anything else he could and jumped on you like crazy.

Then something happened. The barking lessened, the shredding of most stuff stopped and Jabba turned in to one of the best dogs ever. He patrolled our property faithfully, he kept predators at bay (we used to be the house where chickens went to die. Since Jabba, not one chicken was lost). And most importantly he gave hugs like no other dog ever. All Jabba ever wanted was a big hug and he was in heaven.

Wherever you are Jabba, we hope you know how much you are loved and how much you'll be missed.

We love you boy!

Fairy Girl

Here's Juliet over the weekend. She dressed herself up like a fairy for dinner.

Project Picnic

I recently picked a bunch of these wicker paper plate holders up at a thrift store for about a buck. I always hated the natural color but wondered how they would look painted.

I'm sure the primer was overkill but I figured it would make the color look better, stick better and make the plate holder itself stronger.

I only had two colors on hand to work with so here are the first two. I think they turned out really cool. I'll be picking up more colors soon to finish off the set.

Happy 4th of July

I hope everyone is having a great day off.

Here's a few pics of Juliet and Emma playing in the sprinkler first thing this morning.

Later in the day they hopped in Juliet's truck and drove around for a bit.

It's nice to just enjoy some downtime at home.

Yup

Last night we put the two new baby chicks in the mini-brood. After, I quickly took a shower and too late realized that I hadn't re-covered them up.

I knew the cat might be interested in all the new cheeping so I hurried as fast as I could and ran to cover them up. As I went upstairs this is what I saw.

Those chicks are in no danger of Kisa getting them. With this lazy cat, they'll have plenty of time to get away, lol.

Summer fun!

Juliet is having a friend stay overnight for the first time. The weather is just right and we've got nothing going on, perfect for relaxing and watching the girls have fun.

First item on the list: Water balloons.

Chicks!

We have been so busy this week and getting home so late that I didn't know till his morning hat two chicks had hatched out. They look good and after letting them rest and dry off, will put them into the mini-brood tonight.

Now to name them.....
