Power Wash!

Allen spend the whole morning power washing the front of our house and the deck.

Between what the goats had done and those sneaky chickens, it was pretty bad.

Asleep?

I thought Jabba was asleep and left the back door open. He must have smelled the awesome ham I was baking because when I turned around he was actually IN the kitchen. Jabba never come into the house. He was a tad freaked out but I let him be while he sniffed around for a few minutes.

Ham Steak

Tonight I decided to bust out one of the cured ham steaks we got from the whole hog we recently purchased and picked up from the butcher. These are huge and are supposed to be the best cut from the ham. Yuuummmm!

Ham steaks and scalloped potatoes tonight and tomorrow, ham sandwiches on ciabatta bread. Win win win win.

Someday.....

Someday Juliet will be furious with me for sharing this but it's too cute not to. She is in LOVE with this huge "green bean" looking squash. It's her baby and she insisted on giving it a bath. Then carefully drying it off. Then carefully placing it on her step stool so it can be close by while she takes her bath.

She said she's it's Mommy.
So.Stinking.Sweet.

Splinter!

The other night Juliet mentioned that her toe hurt and she may have a splinter. This kid is not afraid of much, but splinters-not her thing. Usually she gets so worked up she requires a visit from the "Splinter Fairy" who comes in the middle of the night and painlessly removes the splinter.

However, this one looked deep and angry and we didn't think the splinter fairy could pull this one off.

Next step- a few spoonfuls of icing and a few mouthful squirts of whipped cream used as a distraction while Daddy worked on her toe.

In the end, he pulled out this mean long splinter, OUCH!!!!

Last Set

Juliet found this, what I think is some kind of squash. To her, is is the biggest green bean she's ever seen! She had to have it.

She cradled it all the way home until she fell asleep.
